On July 30th, 2014, OCBC's BTU Committee sponsored a workshop on Bullying. The workshop was led by Officer Bennett from the Wake County Sheriff's Department. Some of the discussions were:
-How to recognize bullying
-Different types of bullying
-What to do if you are being bullied
-How to avoid bullying
-Where bullying often takes place
-What NC's Laws and Statues say about bullying
If you weren't at the workshop, you missed an educational, yet fun treat! You might not want to miss the next BTU Committee coming up pretty soon!!!
On July 27th, 2014, the women of OCBC celebrated their annual Women's Day. All the women of OCBC had a wonderful time celebrating with each other, as they were recognized and appreciated for all they do as women.
The theme was: "Becoming a Proverb 31 Woman" and the scripture was from Proverbs 31: 10-31.
Sis. Phyllis Jones-Clark led the worship service for the women and for everyone at the service. The music was rendered beautifully by the Women's Day Choir, and OCBC's very own Rev. Dr. Mary Smalls preached the sermon for all the women.
If you missed today's service, you won't want to miss next Sunday's service!
